The Spitronics X06 TxW Harness is a universal Throttle-by-Wire (TxW) wiring harness developed for the Mercury3 system to simplify installation, reduce wiring time and minimise potential faults during installation and troubleshooting.
Designed to accommodate a wide range of electronic throttle and accelerator pedal combinations, the X06 harness contains the required TxW connection wiring from the Mercury3 connectors, providing the connection options needed for most TxW configurations.
The X06 can also be used as a standalone TxW harness without an ECU, making it suitable for applications such as carburetted or diesel engines where an electronic throttle system is required. The harness includes shielded wiring for the RPM and TPS sensors, with power and earth connections incorporated into the shielded wiring. In certain applications, a suitable sensor may need to be installed or fabricated on the engine.
The harness is supplied as a pre-wired installation solution, including a mechanical relay and inline fuse for TxW power requirements. The necessary diodes and resistors for decoupling and pull-up functions are also built into the harness, reducing the amount of additional wiring and components required during installation.
The X06 features PVC sleeving and heat-shrink preparation for final installation and includes dedicated shielded circuits for the pedal TPS, throttle TPS and crank/RPM signal. The shield connections are designed to be grounded specifically at the TxW side and must not be connected to the engine or vehicle chassis.
Harness Connections
The X06 includes wiring for:
- Pedal TPS – TPS signal, +5V and earth
- Throttle TPS – TPS signal, +5V and earth
- Crank/RPM Sensor – RPM signal, +12V and earth
- Throttle Motor – positive and negative motor connections
- Ignition Power
- Water Temperature Sensor
- Battery Positive (BAT+)
- Earth connections for sensor and shield circuits
- TxW relay wiring
Important: The X06 is a universal harness and is not plug-and-play. The appropriate connectors for the specific electronic throttle and accelerator pedal must be supplied and fitted for the application. Any unused wires must also be properly isolated to prevent shorts or electrical interference.
