DB2 Negative Diode Board

R33,00

The DB2 Negative Diode Board is a compact diode board designed for negative-driver applications using inductive loads, including PWM-controlled solenoids and low-resistance inductive loads. It provides the required freewheel diode arrangement for compatible Spitronics ECU/TCU installations using a Level 1 harness or a custom-built harness.

Category:

The DB2 Negative Diode Board is designed to provide the freewheel diode arrangement required when using compatible negative drivers to control inductive loads. It is particularly relevant for installations involving PWM solenoids or other low-resistance inductive loads.

Spitronics control systems can be configured for engine or transmission management, so the required freewheel diodes may need to be installed in the wiring harness when using a Level 1 harness or manufacturing a custom harness.

Key Features

  • Negative-driver configuration: Designed for compatible negative-driver applications.
  • Inductive load protection: Provides the required freewheel diode arrangement for suitable inductive loads.
  • PWM solenoid compatibility: Suitable for applicable PWM-controlled solenoid installations.
  • Compact design: Can be incorporated directly into the wiring harness.
  • Flexible installation: Supports custom harness construction and compatible Level 1 harness installations.

Installation Notes

The DB2 board must be wired according to the supplied Spitronics installation diagram, with the diode orientation and connections appropriate for negative drivers. The R2+ connection must receive a positive supply from the power relay’s pin 87, as specified in the product documentation.

Where possible, make the connections inside the vehicle to protect the board from environmental exposure. If installed outside the vehicle, seal the board against moisture and dirt. The supplied documentation recommends applying silicone before fitting heat-shrink sleeving to help seal the components.

Important: Always use the correct diode board for the driver configuration. Incorrect board selection or diode orientation can short the drivers and damage the TCU. Ensure that all wiring connections are insulated and free of short circuits.

Refer to the official DB2 Negative Drivers documentation for the wiring diagrams and diode orientation.
